I have spent many years playing in and around the great city of New York. While there, one of my favorite places to play is in Central Park by Bethesda Fountain on 72nd St. Hundreds of people gather to listen and relax.
For quite a while, it was a regular weekly event.
In the movie, "When Harry Met Sally" there is one scene where they walk up to the fountain, if you look to the side there is a small spot worn off in the grass where I was standing that year. It kind of made me feel a part of NYC - in an odd way.

Many of my musical heros passed through the audiences - Paul Simon witnessed a sing along of one of his songs - Yoko Ono gave me twenty bucks - and one Earth Day 700 to 1000 people hung out all day long.
